i3status software package provides Generates a status line for dzen2, xmobar or i3bar, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install i3status
i3status is installed in your system.
Make ensure the i3status package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep i3status *
You will get with i3status package name, version, architecture and description in a table
